North Wales Holiday Cottage

This one bedroom luxury and romantic cottage sits in a very pretty and secluded location on the side of a prominent and much loved village hillside called Moel Hiraddug in Dyserth on the North Wales Borders.  The cottage is at the start (or end) of the designated Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is within walking distance of the village shops and pubs (10 minute walk downhill or a 15 minute walk uphill). The cottage, a former stable block, was originally converted in 2013 and a full refurbishment has just been completed. The decoration and furnishings are to a high standard with every amenity and fine detail considered, including good quality towels and bed linens.

While The Lodge is set in a rural location (a walkers paradise), it is only a 10 minute drive to its nearest beach and the seaside town of Prestatyn.  Surrounded by views of the rolling hills of the North Wales countryside, within seconds of your arrival, you can stretch your legs and walk to the top of the paddock, where you will be rewarded with fine views of the coastline and the majestic Snowdonia Mountain Range.  From the stile in the paddock you have direct access to the Clwydian Range footpath and the famous Offa's Dyke trail.  You can walk for hundreds of miles on designated walking trails straight from your front door.  This is also a great location if you like to cycle, with many country lanes and coastal roads to navigate and explore.  The cottage is accessed via a private uphill drive and which is the only vehicle access point for both The Lodge and our cottage (no through traffic and away from the lane).  Please note that although we live nearby, The Lodge is totally separate from our home and you will have complete privacy.

There are many castles, high adrenaline and outdoor adventure activities, breathtaking locations  to visit, beautiful scenery (from moorlands,  to mountains, to lakes) and lots of interesting things to do and experience, all within the local and surrounding area in any direction.  Alternatively, you can chill out, dine alfresco, catch up on some reading, have a snooze in front of the fire, sunbathe or enjoy a garden drink while surreptitiously watching the wildlife at play.

Chester, Llangollen, Llandudno, Lake Bala, Conwy, Snowdonia and Anglesey are all within easy access, so this really is the perfect base to maximise your time in North Wales - please check out the day trips page for some great ideas.

The lounge, kitchen and bedroom all have vaulted ceilings and are generous in size with plenty of room to spread out, relax and kick back.  The bathroom has a roll top bath with a separate shower; toiletries, bathrobes and slippers are provided for your convenience and comfort.  French doors in the lounge and kitchen lead out to a private courtyard garden and covered gazebo, table and chairs set and the secure bike store.  To the side of the property is a small garden lawn, perfect for chilling out on the wooden steamer chairs in the summer and enjoying the countryside views.  In front of the property is another a table, chair and parasol set and for when you are out and about there is a picnic basket, blanket, cool bag and beach towels.  The property has excellent central heating, WiFi and a smart TV (enabling you to access your own Netflix account).

We hope we have thought of everything (big and small) to make your stay as comfortable, relaxing and as enjoyable as possible.

Whether you are looking for a romantic, peaceful, walking, cycling or activity based holiday, staying at The Lodge will more than fulfil all of your needs.

We welcome one pet.

Smoking is not permitted inside (this includes E cigarettes).  We have installed a covered gazebo off the kitchen French kitchen doors, which is ideal for smoking undercover when it's raining.

Welcome to The Lodge.
